The Pawsitive Pup Training

Naomi Jensen, owner and head trainer of The Pawsitive Pup has been in the animal welfare field for over 20 years. She has experience as a veterinary technician and certified dog trainer. She practices reward-based training methods. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and has been awarded the Certified Per Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed designation through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
The following are the classes offered on-site:
Kinderpuppy 1- For puppies 10 weeks to 5 months. Major emphasis on socialization and bite inhibition to help puppies become confident, well-mannered adults. Basic behaviors such as Sit, Down, Stand, Settle, Recall, walk on a loose leash, etc.
Kinderpuppy 2- Continuing from Kinderpuppy 1. More advanced, real-world behaviors such as stay, reliable recall, settle on a mat, Take it/Leave it, Four on the floor, tricks, body handling, etc. A.K.C. Star Puppy exam will be offered at the end of the four weeks and is optional.
Beginner Adult- For dogs over 5 months with little or no prior training. Emphasis on basic manners (Four on the Floor, stay, recall, walk on loose leash, etc.) as well as strengthening impulse control with the goal of having a thinking dog vs a reactive one.
Intermediate Adult- For dogs over 5 months who have completed Beginner Adult or similar training. Strengthening basic behaviors in real-world situations. Acceptance into this class is at Trainer’s discretion.
A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen- This class gets dogs ready to pass the A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) exam. Each test item is explained and practiced and the exam is given on the last day of class. Acceptance into class is at Trainer’s discretion. Urban and Community CGC classes also available.

One (5) week class $99
Two (5) week classes $178
One-on-One lessons- $59 per hour
**All dogs must be free from coughing, sneezing, vomiting and diarrhea the week prior to class**
